Walk-Ilates Class from June 1st to August 3rd
Location: Rhinebeck Pilates
We are excited to offer the Hudson Valley's first ever Walk-ilates class at Rhinebeck Pilates! A Walk-ilates class consists of a 1/2hr of pilates exercises and stretches that train the body to be in correct alignment and to use proper biomechanics while walking, running, and even standing. The 2nd 1/2hr of class is an energetic walk outdoors with focus on proper gait. Students are given individual corrections to help their bodies move more freely and with ease while walking. Students are encouraged to wear MBT shoes, though they are not necessary. 10-week Walk-ilates Class Mondays, from 5-6pm, June 1- Aug 3 $20/1 class, $150/all 10 classes Please contact the studio to reserve your space in class, or if you have any questions.

Art At Grasmere from June 6th to July 6th

Join us for the Opening Reception of the next Art At Grasmere on Saturday June 6th from 1:00 - 5:00 PM. Art At Grasmere is an Annual Collective Art Show featuring New York and Hudson Valley based artists held at the historic Grasmere estate in Rhinebeck, New York. This year 31 artists will be showing collections of their work ranging from paintings, photography, collage, sculpture, jewelry and installation pieces. Pure art will be the focus of the opening weekend but subsequent weekends will spotlight performances by political satirist Barry Crimmins, poetry slams, short videos and musical guests. The exhibition will be open until July 6th 2009. Touch A Truck on July 12th
Location: Dutchess County Fairgrounds
The Young Leaders United of United Way of Dutchess County are hosting an inaugural Touch a Truck event to be held on July 12, 2009. It will be take place at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, NY from 12PM-5PM. This event is a great chance for all members of the community to come together and have some great fun while supporting United Way. Families from throughout the county will be able to see, touch and photograph over 50 vehicles on display. We are hoping to draw over 5,000 children and adults to this fundraising event that will bring dollars into the community making a difference in people’s lives in Dutchess County.

Community Foundation 2009 Garden Party on September 13th
The Community Foundation of Dutchess County honorees for the 2009 Garden Party are Ira and Dana Effron, and Bernard and Shirley Handel. Scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the tented and catered event is presented to recognize these local couples for their community service, while demonstrating the work of the Community Foundation in our area. This year also marks the Foundation’s 40th Anniversary, having been established in 1969. Tickets are $125 in advance; sponsorships are available. Net proceeds from this annual Garden Party help support the Community Foundation’s continued efforts to promote philanthropy and charitable giving in Dutchess, Ulster and Putnam counties, and provide much needed funding to support the programs and services of worthy local nonprofit organizations.
