Astor Home For Children 7th Annual Dinner on May 9th
Location: Locust Grove, The Samuel Morse Historical Site
Exciting Program for Astor’s 7th Annual Dinner Event The Astor Home for Children will hold its 7th Annual Dinner on Friday May 9th 2008 at Locust Grove, The Samuel Morse Historic Site, in Poughkeepsie. This dinner, in celebration of 55 years of service to children and families in the community features an evening of wine pairing, music, dancing and fun. This year, Astor is thrilled to have Anthony Gargiula and his brother Louis perform. Anthony, the youngest person to sing at Carnegie Hall, has been featured on the Today Show and the Ellen DeGeneres Show! The evening will also be topped off by dancing to the live music of the Michael Dell Orchestra. Astor will honor former members of the Board, Walter Cadette, Mike Mazzarella and Shawn Pratt for their dedication to Astor and to the community. There will be a live and silent auction of fabulous items, including a three night stay at Napa Valley Amadeus Spa & Salon and a one night stay at historic Orient Inn on Long Island’s North Fork. The two course dinner will be catered by Bridgecreek Caterers, New Paltz and paired with wines from Dr. Konstantin Frank Vinifera & Chateau Frank. Centennial Celebration Of Morton Memorial Library on May 24th
Location: 82 Kelly St., Rhinecliff, NY
An all day celebration of the Morton Memorial Library and Community House centennial year. The Morton family endowed the community with this historic structure a century ago, and it was chartered as a public library in 1908. From noon to 4:00 there will be music, refreshments, and outdoor fun for the whole family with participation by the fire company and the post office. From 7:00 to 10:00 in Morton Hall, there will be refreshments provided by the new Rhinecliff Hotel, a silent auction, and a live art auction beginning at 8:30.
